Ingredients
- Cookies:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking sda
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Icing:
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup butter
Method
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Cream the butter, shortening and sugar
- Add eggs and vanilla
- In a separate bowl, combine dry ingredients
- Combine wet and dry ingredients
- Portion cookies, placing them evenly spaced out on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
Notes
- Time and temperature are accurate for an oven that runs hot. Adjust accordingly.
