Ingredients
- 1 pound 80/20 ground chuck
- 8 ounces hot Italian pork sausage
- 1 medium-large onion (200g), medium dice
- 4 cloves garlic (20g), minced
- Coarse salt
- 1 gram/0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 gram/0.5 teaspoon red chili flake
- 75 grams/0.33 cup tomato paste
- 15 gram/1 tablespoon beef Better Than Bouillon paste
- 28 ounce can of crushed tomatoes
- 28 ounces water (enough to fill tomato can)
- 7-8 grams/2 teaspoons granulated sugar
- 10 grams/3 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
- 340 grams dried spaghetti, broken in half
- 50 grams/0.5 cup grated parmesan, with extra for garnish
Method
- Heat a dutch oven or large heavy bottomed pot over medium high. Add a bit of oil, the ground beef, and sausage, breaking the meat apart into small pieces as it cooks.
